The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy in Montenegro, Nik Gjeloshaj, in an interview for "Ditari" of A2CNN, was asked about the impact that the election of Andrija Mandić as speaker of parliament will have on the course of the new government in Podgorica.
Mandic, who is one of the leaders of the "For the Future of Montenegro" coalition, is widely known as pro-Serb and pro-Russian, even with close ties to the power of Vladimir Putin.
His election at the head of the Assembly also worried the USA and the EU, but it seems that Gjeloshaj is confident that Mandic will adhere to the coalition agreement, where according to him he has accepted an obligation to avoid aggressive language towards the European Union and support for Russia.
" I honestly think that with the structure of the current government and with what we have started in the judiciary and with some other decisions that will be made by the end of the year, Montenegro will win the recommendation to close the 8 chapters that have not been completed. I think that no one can influence this way of the government. Neither the speaker nor his past, with what he has committed to in the agreement he has signed, which is committed to the opposite of what he has declared most of the time. It will be the policy of the government of Montenegro and it will not move a single millimeter from the Euro-Atlantic integration, the European Union and Western values ", said Gjeloshaj.
