Serbia has sent a note of protest to the Albanian embassy in Belgrade, as it says "to strongly condemn the act of burning the Serbian flag in Tirana".
Based on the images published online on Albanian portals, the Foreign Ministry headed by Ivica Daçiç announces that "such events damage the bilateral relations of the two countries, which in recent years have reached the highest point in their history century common".
The statement states that Serbia expects the Albanian authorities to do everything to identify and prosecute the perpetrators of burning the Serbian flag.
The Foreign Ministry announces that it expects Albania, within a reasonable time, to inform it through diplomatic means about the request.
However, the Serbian state itself has never punished any of its citizens who were involved in burning or misusing Albanian national symbols, including the red and black flag with the double-headed eagle.
The most recent case was last year. It is already known that Albanians in Serbia cannot display the national flag freely, while they are often fined for this at best, and at worst raped.
It is worth mentioning the fact that Albanians in the Presheva Valley have often been fined for flying the Albanian flag. (A2 Televizion)
