The Greek Parliament has been engulfed in strong tensions among MPs, following the release of preliminary investigations into the tragedy that killed 57 people in Tempi, following a train collision.
According to foreign media, the debate in the plenary session of the Parliament took an extreme turn, where Zoe Konstantopoulou accused the New Democracy MPs of killing the 57 victims of the tragedy, while Makarios Lazaridis responded by saying that "in the morning you go out into the canals as if you are crying and in the evening you dance like an animal."
The process was taken out of context with the insistence of the Freedom Party leader on making serious accusations against the majority MPs, while the discussion also mentioned the publications about the letters allegedly sent by Spyros Bibilas with the signature "tender carrot".
Excerpts from the discussion:
Mr. Konstantopoulou: I mentioned to you the names of the 57 people you killed and today you are trampling on their memory. And today you seem to be the victim.
C. Georgantas: Address the presidium and not the deputies, even in an insulting manner
Mr. Konstantopoulou: I am addressing the House of Representatives.
Georgantas: Stop the insults and threats
Mr. Konstantopoulou: Anyone who is guilty feels threatened.
C. Georgantas: You've given sentences, bring in a firing squad and we're done...
M. Lazaridis: In the morning you are a mourner and in the evening you are an animal. Shame on him for calling us murderers. In the morning he goes out and cries and in the evening he dances in Zouganeli
Mr. Konstantopoulou: yes, they are your victims. You will not shut me up with your fascism, you who say I have no children. Stop fascism! (A2 Televizion)
