The Democratic Union for Integration has demanded the immediate resignation of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Astrit Iseni, and the Deputy Minister of Sports, due to their failure to respond to fascist chants during the basketball match between North Macedonia and Romania.
"DUI condemns this incident, describing it as a terrible display of ethnic hatred and criticizing the silence of the institutions and the lack of reaction from the Basketball Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Government of MV. We will not allow Albanians to become the target of fascist calls in the country where they are co-founders of the state ," declared Emir Sulejmani, member of the Central Presidency.
He also warned that "DUI will remain at the forefront of the political and civic response until justice is ensured and those responsible are punished."
He called on Albanian representatives in the Macedonian Government to publicly distance themselves from the event, demand severe sanctions, and withdraw from a Government that tolerates hatred. (A2 Televizion)
