A tragic incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in the city of Prilep in North Macedonia, where a man shot and killed his nephew and 11-year-old son, and then committed suicide. The incident occurred at around 3:00 PM near the Center for Labor and Social Policy.
According to reports, the man was with his two sons at home and about an hour later he shot them to death. The incident was reported to the police at around 15:30, but the police did not arrive at the scene until seven hours later, at 22:30. This delay has raised serious concerns about the failure of the institutions in emergency cases.
When the police tried to enter the house, the perpetrator threatened them with a hand grenade and then activated it, creating panic in the neighborhood. Due to the danger, help was requested from Skopje, but special forces arrived only after midnight, at around 01:30. The intervention had no effect, as the perpetrator committed suicide.
Only after this dramatic situation did the authorities launch an investigation. The reasons for this tragedy are still unknown, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs has not yet issued an official statement. (A2 Televizion)
