The Deputy Prime Minister for Policies and Good Governance in North Macedonia, Arben Fetai, revealed in "Midday Diary" by Denisa Pasholli on A2 CNN, that Artan Grubi is hiding in Albania after escaping through Kosovo in a diplomatic car.
Fetai, who has somehow carried the weight of the government in response to every accusation against Artan Grubi and DUI, called on the former/deputy prime minister to keep his word and return to Skopje to face justice.
"Yes, Artan Grubi has escaped! He fled in a diplomatic car through Kosovo and based on the information we have, he is in the territory of the Republic of Albania. We call on Artan Grub to return. In our country, as in any democratic country, the presumption of innocence applies until the contrary is proven, so I use this opportunity to once again appeal to the former Deputy Prime Minister Grubi to keep his words, not to run away from justice, to return to the country and to testify what he has to testify about the indictment brought against him", said Fetai.
He further admitted that he does not feel at all happy about the fact that an Albanian, despite political divisions, is being accused of corruption and has been declared non-grata by the USA.
"I believe that the news of the last few days regarding the inclusion of Artan Grubi in the American blacklist is bad news for the region, it is bad news for Albanians. However, they confirm what was said by the then opposition, now the new government of North Macedonia, by the ambassadors of friendly countries and strategic partners of the RMV, that in our country there is an epidemic of corruption and impunity has become the norm due to of political influences in the justice system", said Fetai.
Despite the regret he expressed, Fetahi underlined that Artan Grubi in particular, but also DUI have used their power and influence over justice to help an anti-Albanian like the former head of the Secret Service of the RMV, Sasha Mijallkov.
"The reason why former Deputy Prime Minister Grubi was blacklisted is because he directly influenced the justice system, through an Albanian judge, who systematically organized the obsolescence of the cases of the former head of the Secret Service in our country, Sasha Mijallkov, a sworn anti-Albanian, a man responsible for mounted political cases against Albanians and a man against the country's pro-European line. So DUI has helped deeply anti-European and anti-American interests", he declared. (A2 Televizion)
