A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey's Aegean cities, including Izmir and Balikesir, shortly before midnight.
The earthquake, which had its epicenter on the coast of the Aegean Sea, was felt in several cities, including Çanakkale, Izmir and Balikesir, but also on the Greek islands.
The epicenter of the earthquake was reported to be 6.62 kilometers from Ayvacik, a district of Canakkale, and occurred at a depth of 8.65 kilometers. Local authorities have not reported any major damage or casualties.
Local officials and AFAD teams are closely monitoring the situation and are on standby to respond to potential emergencies. They are also assessing any potential consequences of the seismic tremors. (A2 Televizion)
