Two women and a dog were killed after a Christmas Day knife attack in Milton Keynes, UK.
According to foreign media, a man and a teenager also suffered serious injuries. A 49-year-old man was arrested as a suspect for murder and attempted murder and is in custody.
"Two women have died following a stabbing in Milton Keynes on Christmas Day," police said.
A dog injured in the Bletchley incident also died after being taken to vets, A2 CNN writes.
Officers were called to a block of flats in Santa Cruz Avenue just after 6.30pm on Christmas Day following reports of a stabbing.
The two women, aged 38 and 24, died at the scene, Thames Valley Police said. Their families have been informed, writes A2 CNN.
The injured and the teenager were taken to the hospital and are both in a stable condition. The police said that the parties involved in the incident know each other.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin said: “Firstly I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families of the women who have tragically died in this shocking incident.
We have launched a double homicide investigation, which may be of concern to the general public, but we have made an arrest and are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident. The parties are known to each other." (A2 Televizion)
