A huge demonstration in support of Palestine was held this Saturday in London, where according to organizers more than 300,000 people took to the streets of the British capital to demand an end to the violence.
The demonstration, which coincided with Armistice Day, started in Hyde Park and moved to the main streets of London.
Protesters held Palestinian flags and placards calling for an end to Israeli violence and a ceasefire to help civilians trapped in Gaza.
Large police forces were stationed in the streets where the protesters passed, while small incidents were also recorded which were extinguished in time by the officers.
So a counter-protest was held in Whitehall and Chinatown, where people started throwing stones and other hard objects at those who had gathered in support of Palestine.
The intervention of the police led to the arrest of 50 of them, while the strongest clashes were avoided.
Protests in support of Palestine have also taken place in London for days since the launch of Israel's counter-offensive against Hamas militants in Gaza. (A2 Televizion)
