Israeli army attacks in the northern Gaza Strip continue to make no distinction between densely populated areas, schools or hospitals.
Authorities report that the relentless strikes have plunged the small Palestinian enclave into a catastrophic humanitarian situation.
Hamas said dozens of people were killed in an attack on the Al Shifa hospital complex in Gaza City, where the health system is collapsing, according to the World Health Organization.
The Israeli military, which did not comment, said a military unit had begun a large-scale operation very close to the hospital.
The WHO Director-General, addressing the UN Security Council, said that half of the 36 hospitals in the Palestinian enclave are now out of order and that "more than 250 attacks" have been recorded in the health sector in the Gaza Strip and West Bank since the outbreak of war. (A2 Televizion)
