A nine-year-old girl died after eating a plate of gnocchi (pasta) at a restaurant in Rome. Italian media reports that the probable cause of death was an allergic reaction, possibly to wheat. The little girl felt sick right after the meal she had with her family at the restaurant.
The incident happened on Thursday, where immediately after eating the gnocchi, the little girl suffered spasms, vomiting and breathing difficulties. The symptoms worsened enough to prompt her parents to call the Casilino Polyclinic emergency. After a further deterioration of her health conditions, it was decided to transfer her to Gemelli, where she died. While parents gave the green light to organ donation.
