The first round of talks between American and Russian officials in Saudi Arabia has now concluded.
According to foreign media, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said the negotiations "went well" with the conditions discussed for a meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, but without agreeing on any date.
The talks lasted four and a half hours, with Ushakov saying that the negotiators have agreed with the US to discuss the war in Ukraine, writes A2 CNN.
Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia's sovereign wealth fund, said officials treated each other in a respectful manner, but added that it was "too early to talk about compromises."
We recall that this was the first meeting at these levels since the start of the war in Ukraine in February two years ago, when tensions between the US and Russia had increased significantly.
With the coming to power of President Donald Trump in the US, the first steps were taken to reach a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. (A2 Televizion)
