The United Kingdom has announced £4 million in new humanitarian support for Gaza.
According to foreign media, the Government says the package will cover essential medicines and medical supplies for up to 32,000 people, safe drinking water for up to 60,000 people and food packages for up to 14,000 people.
The money will be given to the British Red Cross to provide humanitarian aid in Gaza through its partner, the Palestine Red Crescent Society, writes A2 CNN.
This decision comes after David Lammy yesterday announced new sanctions targeting violent settlers in the West Bank, halted free trade agreement negotiations with Israel and called Israel's actions "ugly" and "intolerable".
Announcing the package, Jenny Chapman, the development minister, said: "The UK is clear - Israel will not achieve security by prolonging the suffering of the Palestinian people." (A2 Televizion)
