"I heard screams, then...", Filipino woman allegedly helped son

The investigation into the murder of Ilaria Sula, a 22-year-old Albanian student in Rome, has entered a new phase. After the confession of her ex-boyfriend, Antony Mark Samson, 23, who admitted to stabbing her to death during an argument in their apartment, Italian authorities have decided to investigate his mother as well.

According to sources from "LaPresse", Samson's mother has been included in the list of suspects for collaborating in hiding the body. She intervened immediately after the crime, after hearing her daughter's screams and seeing the lifeless body in the bedroom.

Instead of alerting the authorities, she is suspected of helping her son clean up the crime scene at the apartment in via Homs, in Rome's African neighborhood, writes A2.

While Samson claims he acted alone, investigators are not convinced by his version and are investigating further into the possible role of family members. The mother and father's phone records will be carefully analyzed to uncover their movements in the hours after the crime.

Samson's mother will be questioned today. The aim of the investigation is to clarify exactly what happened in the hours after the crime and who else may have been involved in hiding the evidence.

The body of Ilaria Sula, who went missing on March 25, was found on the night between April 1 and 2 inside a suitcase thrown on a rock in a forest area in Poli. The incident has shocked public opinion in Italy and Albania, while investigations continue.

Meanwhile, the Rome Court confirmed the release of 23-year-old Filipino Mark Samson, accused of the murder of Albanian Ilaria Sula, in custody. According to Italian media, a few days after the young man killed Ilaria and threw her off a cliff, he took the vehicle to a service station and asked for the car to be cleaned. Employees of the service station where Mark Samson took his vehicle for repair described him as a kind boy and that they had never thought he could do something like this.
