Two drones violated Moldovan airspace last night near the border with Ukraine, the government has said.
According to foreign media, Moldova, which lies between Ukraine and EU member Romania, has seen repeated incursions by war-deployed Russian drones.
The incidents have sparked an angry response from Moldovan authorities, writes A2 CNN.
Government spokesman Daniel Voda did not identify the origin of the last two drones, but said the interception occurred shortly before 11 p.m. local time, after Ukraine reported that its southern Odessa region near the border was under Russian attack.
In incidents last week, two drones crashed in the same area near the border with Ukraine and one of them exploded, writes A2 CNN.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu, who accuses Russia of trying to destabilize her government, said Moscow was endangering the lives of Moldovans.
Russian Ambassador Oleg Ozerov, summoned to the Moldovan Foreign Ministry last week, was shown parts of the drones, including some bearing the name Geran-2, the Russian designation for the Iranian-designed Shahed drone. (A2 Televizion)
