Emergency in several states, the ice storm freezes America, victims are reported

At least five people have died due to the ice storm that is freezing half of the United States. This has caused chaos in road and air traffic, school closures and power outages.

At least 7 US states have declared a state of emergency, starting with Maryland, Kansas, Virginia, West Virginia, Missouri, Kentucky and Arkansas.

More than 2,300 flights have been canceled, while another 9,000 flights are reported to have been delayed by the extreme weather conditions brought on by the icy vortex that usually swirls around the North Pole.

190 thousand people were left without electricity. Snowfall and frost will continue in the northern part of the US for several more weeks, according to what meteorologists predict. The thickness of the snow is over 30 centimeters so far. (A2 Televizion)
