US General Dan Caine has detailed the specifics of the US attack on the Iranian nuclear base at Fordow and how they penetrated there.
According to foreign media, Caine said that Washington targeted the ventilation shafts of the nuclear facility.
"All six guns in each vent at Fordow went exactly where they were supposed to go," he said, writes A2 CNN.
Caine said that Iran, apparently aware of the impending attack, attempted to cover the ventilation shafts with concrete.
"I won't share the specific dimensions of the concrete cap, but you should know that we know the dimensions of those concrete caps," he further said.
According to him, the covers were destroyed by the first attacks, leaving the shaft exposed for subsequent attacks.
Caine continued: "The main shaft was revealed for weapons two, three, four, five and they were 'tasked' to enter the main shaft and moved down into the complex at over 1,000 feet per second and exploded in the mission space.
"Weapon number six was designed as a flexible weapon to allow us to make sure if one of the previous jets, or one of the previous weapons, didn't work," he said.
