Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has delivered his first speech since announcing the ceasefire with Israel, after not appearing live for a week.
According to foreign media, in his statement, Khamenei says that the US "failed to achieve anything significant" by attacking Iran's nuclear facilities.
He says US President Donald Trump had given an "extremely exaggerated" description of what had happened.
"It was clear that he had to do this," Khamenei says, adding that anyone listening could understand that the US was exaggerating things to distort the truth.
"We attacked one of the main US bases in the region, and here, they tried to minimize the damage," he says.
He says Trump called on Iran to "surrender," but his comments were "too big for the mouth of the president of the United States."
"For a great country and nation like Iran, just mentioning surrender is an insult," Khamenei added, writes A2 CNN.
He adds that Donald Trump accidentally discovered a truth, that Americans have opposed the Islamic Republic of Iran from the beginning. (A2 Televizion)
