Former Colonel Dritan Demiraj has said that Moscow's response to Ukrainian attacks deep inside Russia will be harsh.
Demiraj made the comments in an interview with journalist Bruna Çifligu on A2 CNN's 'Ditari i Pasdites', where he stated that Ukraine's shooting down of Russian planes was a smart choice, despite the fact that, according to him, it will not go without consequences.
He added that today's war in Ukraine is a proxy confrontation between NATO and the Russian Federation. He added that all NATO resources and capabilities are at the service of Ukraine in this conflict.
"This is a proxy war between NATO and the Russian Federation. All intelligence and all capabilities are rightfully in support of Ukraine. This is because the power of the Russian Federation is several times greater than that of Ukraine.
And in this perspective, the approach of these operations that you mentioned, these were called asymmetric operations, which, finding it impossible to face a conventional war with all the Russian means and military power, use conventional forms to strike and bleed as much as possible in key countries.
And this is precisely where we are dealing with a strike on the nuclear triad, which means striking strategic facilities that are capable of striking not Ukraine, but the US and NATO as a bloc, during a possible conflict.
"Striking these planes is a powerful, smart blow, a very smart investment on the part of Ukraine. But if we look at it from a strategic point of view, I see that the response of the Russian Federation will be much greater," Demiraj said, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
