Russia has admitted responsibility for the attacks in Ukraine overnight, foreign media report.
In a statement issued by the Defense Ministry, Moscow said its forces struck Ukraine in response to "terrorist acts."
Our Moscow correspondent, Ivor Bennett, believes the Kremlin is referring here to attacks on bridges in Russia, for which Ukraine has not claimed responsibility.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said three people were killed, all rescue workers, and 49 others were injured, although these figures could rise, writes A2 CNN.
Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko previously said four people had died in the capital, although Ukrainian officials now say the figure is three.
Here is the full statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense:
"Tonight, in response to the terrorist acts of the Kiev regime, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a massive attack with high-precision air, naval and ground weapons, as well as attack UAVs, on design bureaus, enterprises for the production and repair of Ukrainian weapons and military equipment, workshops for the assembly of attack drones, training centers for flight personnel, as well as weapons and military equipment depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The goal of the attack was achieved. All designated objects were hit." (A2 Televizion)
