The Iranian regime has warned people to stop using WhatsApp, Telegram and other “location-based” apps, saying it is one of Israel’s “main methods to identify and target individuals,” Iran’s state news agency IRIB reported, citing a security report today.
"Following recent targeted killings" by Israel, "including the assassination of scientists, reports indicate that the Israeli regime uses cell phone tracking to target people in Iran," IRIB said, foreign media wrote.
The report said that using these apps is "dangerous under these circumstances," writes A2 CNN.
The report also ordered people to turn off their mobile phones before changing locations. “People should refrain from taking their mobile phones to sensitive places,” IRIB added.
The security report also advised the public, “especially employees of ‘sensitive’ organizations, to use secure telecommunications lines and avoid using insecure software,” according to IRIB. (A2 Televizion)
