A rare incident has been recorded in a flight of a Boeing 747, which had started from New York and had as its final destination Belgium.
The pilot of the transport plane was forced to make an emergency landing after a horse managed to escape from its stall and move freely on board the Boeing 747.
The incident happened on November 9 on a flight of the Icelandic company "Air Atlanta".
In an audio recording of communication with air traffic control, the pilot can be heard informing them about the runaway animal and asking to land at an airport 30 minutes after takeoff.
" Yes sir, we are a cargo plane ," the pilot is heard saying in the air traffic control audio recording obtained by Live ATC.
" We have a live animal, a horse, on board the plane, and the horse managed to get out of its stall. We have no problem flying, but we have to get back to New York. "
FlightRadar24 data showed the plane had climbed to an altitude of 9,448 meters before it was forced to make an emergency turn off the coast of Boston.
In the recorded audio, it is understood that the pilot also released about 20 tons of fuel over the Atlantic, to ensure that the plane was not over the safe weight limit for landing.
