Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has reacted by declaring that Iran will not surrender to the demands of the United States and will not accept an imposed peace.
In a message broadcast on Iranian state television on Wednesday, Khamenei stressed that "this nation will not surrender to anyone," while referring to the statement of US President Donald Trump, who called for Iran's unconditional withdrawal from the conflict, now in its sixth day, writes A2 CNN.
"Iran will stand firm against an imposed war, just as it will stand firm against an imposed peace," Khamenei said. He added that anyone who knows Iran and its history "would not dare to speak to this nation in the language of threats."
The Iranian leader also warned that any military intervention by the US would bring "irreparable damage", calling Israel's military campaign a "big mistake".
"They will be punished for this," he concluded, stressing that his country is prepared for any future scenario. (A2 Televizion)
