The Kremlin has reacted to the possibility of the US lifting sanctions against Moscow, following the normalization of relations between the two countries.
According to foreign media, when asked about a Reuters report that the US is drawing up a plan to ease sanctions on Russia, spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that any normalization of relations with the US would require the lifting of sanctions and reiterated Moscow's position that sanctions against it are illegal.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, the US has imposed sanctions targeting industry revenues. Sanctions have also been imposed on Moscow's oil and gas in an effort to weaken its ability to finance the war, writes A2 CNN.
