The Kremlin has reacted again to the war in Ukraine and the clash between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House.
According to foreign media, spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the public White House clash between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy showed how difficult it will be to reach a solution to the war.
He said European leaders will have to "make a lot of efforts" with Washington to wash away the "unpleasant residue" of Zelenskyy's meeting with Trump.
Analysts say the public feud has played perfectly into the hands of Moscow, which is working to discredit Zelensky and undermine his legitimacy, writes A2 CNN.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Zelenskyy had received a "strong slap" in Washington, while Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said it was a miracle that Trump and JD Vance had refrained from hitting the Ukrainian President.
London summit 'helps keep the fight going'
Peskov also said that promises made by European leaders at yesterday's summit in London to increase funding for Kiev will not bring a peaceful end to the conflict.
He said the summit's results, including a £1.6 billion deal for air defence missiles from Britain, would allow hostilities to continue, adding that it was critical that Zelenskyy be forced to change his position and seek peace.
"This is clearly not about a peace plan," but will allow "the continuation of hostilities," he said, writes A2 CNN.
"Any constructive initiative (for peace) will be required now. It is very important that someone forces Zelensky himself to change his position. He does not want peace. Someone must make Zelensky want peace," he further said. (A2 Televizion)
