Massacre in France, the perpetrator surrenders to the police after killing five

Five people were killed on Saturday in Northern France, while a 22-year-old man handed himself over to the gendarmerie station, admitting the crime. The tragic events started at around 15:00 in Wormhout, where a 29-year-old businessman was shot dead in the yard of his apartment, reports "Le Parisien". According to the victim's wife, the perpetrator of the attack got out of a vehicle and opened fire, causing the immediate death of her husband.

A few hours later, in the Loon-Plage area near Dunkirk, four more victims were reported: two security guards and two migrants. The incident took place in two different places within the port area. According to the mayor, Éric Rommel, security guards were attacked during their patrol, while migrants were killed in a nearby area between Loon-Plage and Dunkirk.

Around 17:00, a person identified as Paul D., a resident of Dunkirk, presented himself at the gendarmerie station in Ghyvelde admitting responsibility for all five murders. According to authorities, the suspect legally owned a Smith & Wesson rifle and had four guns in his car at the time of the surrender.

The motives behind the attack remain unclear, although investigations are looking into a possible conflict between the perpetrator and the first victim's company. There are no indications suggesting a racial motive for the incident, according to the local prefecture.

Law enforcement and investigators continued to work on the scene into the evening hours, gathering evidence and clearing the scene for further investigation. A judicial investigation has been opened to clarify the circumstances and motives of this massacre that has shocked the local community. (A2 Televizion)
