Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that India and Pakistan had agreed to an immediate and complete ceasefire.
According to foreign media, this announcement by President Trump has been confirmed by the Foreign Minister of Pakistan.
Ishaq Dar wrote on the social network 'X': "Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect."
"Pakistan has always strived for peace and security in the region, without compromising its sovereignty and territorial integrity," he further wrote.
Meanwhile, India has also confirmed the ceasefire, following the announcement by Pakistan's military director.
The country's Foreign Ministry said the ceasefire began at 5pm India time (1pm UK time).
The Foreign Minister also added that Pakistan's director general of military operations called this afternoon and it was agreed that both sides would cease all firing.
The statement added that there will be further talks between India and Pakistan on May 12, writes A2 CNN.
