Ukraine's foreign minister has welcomed President Donald Trump's "strong" message to Vladimir Putin, after the US president threatened Russia with more taxes and sanctions if it does not end its war with Ukraine.
"We really welcome such strong messages from President Trump," says Andriy Sybiha, speaking on a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, foreign media write.
"We believe that (Trump) will be the winner," he adds, saying that Ukraine hopes this will bring "a new dynamic to diplomatic efforts to end this war and achieve a lasting, just and comprehensive peace."
Earlier, the Kremlin also responded to Trump, saying it remains "ready for an equal dialogue, a mutually respectful dialogue."
Recall that Trump is scheduled to speak at the World Economic Forum at 4:00 PM local time, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
