President Donald Trump and other Republicans have called the bill passed this morning "big and beautiful."
According to foreign media, focusing on tax and spending cuts, the legislation will include tax cuts introduced during Trump's first term, as well as bring additional measures.
Other priorities for the President include eliminating taxes on tips, spending more on defense and border security, and cutting government health care programs, including Medicaid, a health program aimed at low-income Americans.
The bill was met with criticism from some Republicans, as well as Democrats, writes A2 CNN.
Some of them were concerned that the cuts would be harmful to lower-income individuals, others wanted the bill to go further.
In a post on social media, the US president calls it "perhaps the most important piece of legislation to ever be signed in the history of our country!"
He suggests this will bring a number of benefits, including "MASSIVE TAX CUTS" and "Salary increases for our ICE and Border Patrol agents."
Trump then praises Republicans who voted for the bill and says there is "no time to waste" before the Senate begins work on it. (A2 Televizion)
