Russia's federal security services, the FSB, said on Saturday they had foiled a plot by Kiev to kill a senior Russian official and a pro-Moscow war blogger with a bomb hidden in a music box.
The FSB, which is the successor to the Soviet-era KGB, said a Russian citizen had established contact with an officer of the military intelligence agency in Ukraine through the Telegram platform. Based on the instructions of the Ukrainian secret services, the Russian citizen had then received a bomb hidden in an area of Moscow, equivalent to 1.5 kg of explosives.
He reportedly packed it in a music box. Ukraine has not commented, but in the past it has described as legal the killings of certain exponents that it considers guilty of war crimes.
On December 17, Kiev intelligence killed in a bomb attack in Moscow General Kirilov, head of the nuclear, biological and chemical defense forces.
Meanwhile, in a message published during the evening, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy spoke of great losses in the ranks of Korean soldiers who are fighting for Russia. He said that Kim Jong Un's troops are being sent to the battlefield unprotected.
"The fronts near Donetsk remain the most intense, mainly in the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Kharkiv regions. The Russian region of Kursk, where North Korean soldiers are involved in the battle, is no exception. The losses in their ranks are considerable. We see that neither the heads of the Russian army nor those of North Korea have any interest in ensuring their survival. Executed by their own forces, the Russians send the North Koreans into attacks with minimal protection.”
The United States also confirmed that Pyongyang's forces are suffering massive losses on the war fronts, with thousands of troops killed or wounded in just one week in Russia's Kursk region. (A2 Televizion)
