Italian erotic comedy icon passes away

Renowned Italian actor Alvaro Vitali, who was also an icon of erotic comedy for his role as Pierino, has died at the age of 75 in Rome, after a recurring bout of bronchopneumonia.

According to foreign media, during his career he starred in over 80 films, including collaborations with director Federico Fellini.

He was born on February 3, 1950 and was hospitalized two weeks ago due to recurrent bronchopneumonia, as his ex-wife, Stefania Corona, revealed in an interview given a few days ago, according to media reports.

The vast majority of the films in which he participated are related to the character of Pierino or comedies where he played alongside erotic comedy icons such as Edwige Fenech, Nadia Cassini and Carmen Russo, writes A2 CNN.

Although usually in supporting roles, he has also starred in several films by the great director Federico Fellini, including Satyricon, I cloëns and Amarcord (where he appears as one of the protagonist Titta's school friends). (A2 Televizion)
