After nine months in space, NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams have finally returned to Earth.
The SpaceX capsule made a quick and fiery entry into Earth's atmosphere before its four parachutes deployed and it made a splashdown on the coast of Florida. At that moment, the capsule was surrounded by several dolphins.
A recovery ship then lifted it out of the water and the astronauts were helped out of the hatch, along with other crew members, astronaut Nick Hague and cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov.
"It's great to have Crew 9 home, just a beautiful landing," said Joel Montalbano, associate deputy administrator for NASA's Space Operations Mission Directorate.
Thanking the astronauts for their resilience and flexibility, he said SpaceX had been a "great partner."
The trip home took 17 hours.
The astronauts were helped onto a stretcher, which is standard practice after spending so long in a weightless environment.
They will be checked by a medical team and then reunited with their families.
