Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Americans should consider the war he declared against Hamas "their own." In an interview on CNN, Netanyahu described it as "a war of civilization against barbarism".
"It's not just our fight, it's yours too. It is a war of civilization against barbarism", said the Israeli Prime Minister.
He added that he is convinced that if Hamas is not defeated by Israel, then it will spread beyond the Middle East.
"If Hamas is not defeated by Israel, it will spread beyond the Middle East, to Europe and the USA. You will be next," Netanyahu said.
Once again, despite being under increasing pressure and criticism from abroad and at home, Netanyahu denied any responsibility for the growing number of civilians killed in the Gaza Strip.
"Israel fights in accordance with international law and the Israeli military is doing an exemplary job in trying to minimize civilian casualties," he insisted.
Any civilian life lost is a tragedy, he acknowledged, but again blamed Hamas, which he said prevents civilians from leaving areas of operation. (A2 Televizion)
