"From man to woman" Brigitte Macron takes action against influencers

For years, rumors have swirled about the alleged transgender identity of the French first lady. But this time Brigitte Macron is taking legal action against rumors circulating on social media about her identity. Charges have also been filed in the United States.

France's first lady, Brigitte Macron, has no intention of stopping her "revenge" on two YouTube influencers. After the acquittal of two girls who spread false rumors about the French first lady's alleged transgender identity, Brigitte Macron intends to pursue further legal action against the influencers. President Emmanuel Macron's wife and her brother have appealed the case to the Court of Cassation, their lawyer confirmed to the AFP news agency.

Two women who falsely claimed in a YouTube video that Brigitte Macron was a transgender woman were acquitted of the charges by an appeals court last week. The court did not give a reason for the acquittal. The Court of Cassation, which has now been summoned, is responsible for reviewing possible procedural errors in trials.

In a several-hour video posted on YouTube in 2021, two French women spread the lie that Brigitte Macron's brother had undergone sex reassignment surgery and had since changed his name to Brigitte. They explained that they wanted to expose a "state lie."

Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron also filed a defamation lawsuit in the US state of Delaware against American influencer Candace Owens, who also claimed that Brigitte Macron was born a man.

Owens spread the claim on Platform X and her podcast in March 2024 because “she knew the shock value would increase her visibility,” according to court documents obtained by several U.S. media outlets. Owens confirmed on her YouTube channel Thursday night that the Macrons are taking legal action against her.

Court documents further stated that Owens knowingly used false claims about the Macron family to monetize her platform. She responded to the Macron family's demands to retract the content with further falsehoods. Owens claimed that Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron were related and that Emmanuel Macron became president of France with the help of a CIA program. (A2 Televizion)
