Passengers are stuck for hours in the tunnel that connects England with France

A Eurostar train was hit by a "technical problem" in the Channel Tunnel, causing a six-hour delay for passengers traveling from London to Paris.

Passengers on a "Eurostar" train that started from London and had Paris as its final destination, were stuck for hours in the tunnel of the English Channel after the train suffered a breakdown.

" What a mess. We were stuck for hours and hours in a tunnel. We had no idea when we would be out. Now we transferred to another train and literally lost our whole day in Paris. Do better Eurostar. Communicate with your paying customers ," wrote passenger Lisa Levine on the 'X' platform.

The train, which left at 06:01 a.m., was supposed to arrive at Paris Gare du Nord at 9:20 a.m. local time, but passengers were told they would arrive in Paris with a delay of about six hours, writes A2.

Gaby Koppel, a television producer, told The Independent: "We stopped at the tunnel after about an hour's journey, so around 7am UK time . "

Alicia Peters, an operations supervisor, was on the train taking her daughter to Disneyland Paris. She told The Independent: “Sitting for 2.5 hours on a non-moving train with my 8-year-old daughter was very stressful. She was very worried as we heard a noise and then no power. It was very hot and we didn't really know when we were going to move."

Meanwhile, the Eurostar company reacted through an announcement saying that " due to a technical problem, your train cannot complete its journey. It will now head to Calais Frethun where you will transfer to another train to your final destination . " (A2 Televizion)
