The top general of the United States of America has spoken to lawmakers regarding security issues in the country and beyond.
According to foreign media, he appeared just hours after NBC News reported that the Pentagon was considering withdrawing 10,000 troops from Eastern Europe.
But US Army General Christopher Cavoli said: "That's my advice to maintain that posture of force as it is now."
The NBC report was based on six American and European officials who have been briefed on the matter.
The units under review are part of the 20,000 personnel that the Biden administration placed there in 2022, writes A2 CNN.
The numbers are still under discussion, but the proposal could include removing up to half of those forces.
