Russia was one of the countries left off the list of tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on many countries around the world.
According to foreign media, speaking earlier this afternoon, Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said that this is not a way to revive trade with Moscow.
However, according to him, it is up to the President whether he wants to impose any future taxes on Russia, writes A2 CNN.
Greer added that Russia is already facing severe US sanctions and embargoes, as are Belarus, Cuba and North Korea.
Asked about the global response to Trump's tariffs, Greer said he has had "a number of conversations" with the UK.
He also argued that most countries have not retaliated.
"The first thing to note is that almost all countries have announced that they will not retaliate against the United States," he said, writes A2 CNN.
"Of course, we have China, which has made its choice," he added. (A2 Televizion)
