Russia's UN representative, Vasily Nebenzya, continued his propaganda against Kosovo at the Security Council session held on Tuesday evening. He addressed strong criticism of the current government, while also mentioning Kosovo's plans to arm itself, writes A2 CNN. Also worrying, according to Nebenzya, was the military agreement signed between Kosovo, Albania and Croatia on March 18.

Nebenzya began his speech by criticizing the Foreign Minister, Donika Gërvalla, who, according to him, does not respect the ethics of this institution. He did not spare the accusations against the EU either, which, according to him, has no influence on Albin Kurti. The latter, the Russian ambassador claimed, is encouraging local authorities to carry out ethnic cleansing against Kosovo Serbs.

"The announcement has been made about the transition to the final phase of the Kosovo Army, receiving materials from NATO countries as well. We are talking about drones, armored vehicles, anti-tank systems, artillery and other weapons. There are plans to purchase air defense systems, as well as helicopters. The foundations for the local defense industry are being laid, and all of this is a flagrant violation of Resolution 1244. We are very concerned about the signing on March 18 by Zagreb, Tirana and Pristina of some kind of joint declaration in the field of defense," said Nebenzya.

At the UNMIK six-month report session, US representative John Kelley called on Kosovo and Serbia to work to reduce tensions and refrain from actions that escalate the situation. “The ultimate goal should be mutual recognition,” Kelley said.

The European Union representative once again called on Kosovo and Serbia to begin implementing the 2023 Agreement on the path towards normalization of relations and emphasized that Kosovo is expected to establish the Association, while Serbia is expected to recognize Kosovo's documents and symbols.

Official London also welcomed the recognition of Kosovo by Kenya and encouraged states that have not yet taken this step to recognize its independence.

Meanwhile, Paris demanded the rapid formation of a government and the return of Serbs to institutions. While the US called for the closure of UNMIK, France supported the continuation of the mission's mandate, as, as it said, it remains linked to the normalization of relations. (A2 Televizion)
