German police have arrested a 20-year-old Iraqi man suspected of planning a terrorist attack on a Christmas market in Saxony, possibly in Hanover.
According to the investigators, the young man, who had arrived in Germany last year, was planning to attack the visitors with a knife.
A few days ago, two young men, aged 15 and 16, were arrested in North Rhine-Westphalia and Brandenburg, who were also planning an attack on a Christmas market.
After the arrest of terrorism suspects, security measures have been increased at some Christmas markets in Germany. (A2 Televizion)
