On the eve of the armistice coming into force, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gantz gave a press conference during which they first congratulated the military for the commitment shown up to this stage of the war.
Leader Netanyahu reiterated once again before the Israeli and international public that the goal of this war in Gaza is the release of hostages and the destruction of Hamas, which should no longer pose a future security risk.
He expressed his appreciation for the army troops saying that freedom comes at a very high price, which can only be achieved thanks to the courage and heroism of the IDF.
Further, Netanyahu gave some details about the agreement with Hamas, assuring that very soon some children and mothers will be released from the militants, as agreed earlier.
Meanwhile, Minister Gantz brought the latest news from the fighting in Gaza, saying that the offensive is slow, but that the consequences on Hamas and its militants are very great.
The minister said he had asked parliament to allow the Israeli army to go deeper into Gaza to show its strength against the terrorist organization and free the hostages.
