French President Emmanuel Macron says he had a "very positive meeting" with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky as they met at Pope Francis' funeral at the Vatican.
According to foreign media, Zelensky told Macron that Ukraine is "ready for an unconditional ceasefire," adding that "ending the war in Ukraine is the goal we share with President Trump."
In a post on the social network 'X', Macron says it is now up to Russian President Vladimir Putin to "prove that he really wants peace."
"We will continue our work within the framework of the coalition of the willing launched in Paris last March, to achieve both this ceasefire and a complete and lasting peace in Ukraine," Macron added, writes A2 CNN.
Recall that Zelensky previously held a one-on-one meeting with Trump at the Vatican, but not all the details of the meeting are yet known. (A2 Televizion)
