Why did Trump leave Russia, Belarus, and North Korea out of tariffs? Here's

After US President Donald Trump released the list of countries that would soon be hit by his tariffs, many watching had one question: where is Russia?

According to foreign media, the US President had threatened to impose secondary tariffs on Russian oil over the weekend, which increased confusion when Russia was not mentioned in the list of countries yesterday evening.

The White House told NBC News that Russia is not on the list because of the heavy sanctions imposed on the country due to the war in Ukraine and that the US currently does not trade with it.

After the Biden administration introduced measures on Russia, the value of US-Russia trade fell from about $35 billion in 2021 to $3.5 billion last year.

Despite Trump vowing to impose "reciprocal" tariffs on both friends and foes, he has also left out Cuba, Belarus and North Korea. (A2 Televizion)
