Workers at Europe's biggest factory, Volkswagen, are expected to launch new strikes at nine factories in Germany, for the second time in a week.
The strikes are being seen as a way to increase pressure on management, on the day when a new round of negotiations will take place for wage cuts and the closure of several factories within the country.
IG Metall, the union that represents the majority of Volkswagen workers, is ignoring the company's call for workers to accept a 10 percent pay cut to help the company remain competitive in the market.
The union is demanding that all 10 factories in Germany remain open and that Volkswagen's roughly 130,000 workers continue to receive job guarantees.
The four-hour strike is said to begin on Monday morning.
The strike affects nine of the company's 10 factories that are operational in Germany.
Volkswagen has reported small losses in production, after the first strike, a company spokesperson said a few days ago./ REL (A2 Televizion)
