Putin: I invite the USA to conduct a "missile duel" in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin has demanded that the United States and its allies hold a "missile duel" on Ukrainian soil to demonstrate that the new Oreshnik hypersonic ballistic missile could not be intercepted by any US missile defense system.

In the speech at the annual conference, Vladimir Putin once again reiterated the fact that the Oreshnik missile is undetectable by American defense systems, writes A2.

"There is no chance to shoot down these missiles. If Western experts think that Oreshnik can be shot down, we propose to them to conduct some kind of technological experiment, a high-tech duel of the 21st century, let them determine some object, let say, in Kiev, concentrate all their air and missile defense forces there, and we will hit it with Oreshnik and see what happens," said Vladimir Putin, President of Russia.

According to Putin, the situation in the war is changing significantly. Russia is in the process of achieving its priority goals, the president said.

"I must say that the situation is changing dramatically. You know this very well, I just want to confirm it. The movement is taking place every day along the entire front line. And as I already said, we are not talking about the advance of 100, 200, or 300 meters, our fighters are taking and recapturing territories with square kilometers - I want to emphasize - we are taking territories every day", said Putin.

Putin reiterated his willingness to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine. According to him, Russia has no preconditions for negotiations. He was also prepared to make concessions, Putin said in response to a question from US broadcaster NBC. "Politics is the art of compromise." At the same time, the head of the Kremlin once again accused Ukraine of blocking the negotiations. Thus, Putin does not consider the departure of Bashar Al-Assad from Syria a failure.

"I assure you that it is not a failure. We came to Syria 10 years ago so that a terrorist enclave would not be created like what we have seen in some other countries like in Afghanistan, in general, we have achieved our goals, even "even those groups that once fought with the Assad regime, and those with the government forces, have undergone internal changes," Putin said.

At the annual press conference and public consultation, Putin traditionally talks about the country's most pressing problems. In addition to the topic of war, Putin has also touched on the economy and social issues.  (A2 Televizion)
