"Russia is digging deep into Ukraine", the German general: This will

Russia is digging deep into Ukraine. This is what the Major General of the German Army, Christian Freuding, said to the German media. He heads the monitoring units for the situation in Ukraine at the Ministry of Defense and recently compared the Russian army to a "shovel" digging through an open mine.

"At first it digs slowly, now faster. It seems that the Russian withdrawal will not be quick. The Pokrovsk railway junction, which the Russians are currently attacking, could fall in early 2025. At the same time, Russia has is likely to further increase its bombing terror in the coming winter," said Christian Freuding, Major General of the German army.

German experts believe that Russia is currently amassing "huge arsenals of missiles and cruise missiles". Putin could thus launch a final assault on Ukraine's energy supply. Heat and power outages could force hundreds of thousands of residents to flee. So far, Russia has spared Ukraine's last three nuclear power plants. But the International Atomic Energy Agency is reporting more and more attacks on its lines and substations, which means that this source of energy is also at risk, writes A2.

Meanwhile, Russia has announced that its forces launched attacks targeting Ukraine's military airport infrastructure, while Ukraine reported on the same day that its forces were engaged in ongoing battles in frontline areas and repelled attacks by many of the enemy during the last 24 hours.

Russia's Defense Ministry stated in a briefing that Russian forces targeted Ukrainian military facilities including the infrastructure of military airports, railway facilities used to transport military equipment and drone assembly sites. Russia's air defense units shot down several Ukrainian missiles and dozens of drones. In addition, attacks on Ukrainian occupation personnel and equipment in western Russia's Kursk region are still ongoing, according to the ministry. (A2 Televizion)
