Qatar has said it is unacceptable for Israel to "exploit" the current situation in Syria and violate its sovereignty.
According to foreign media, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari made the comments at a press conference today.
Asked about any communication with Syria's main rebel faction, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), Al-Ansari said Qatar's doors are open to all interested parties in Syria.
We recall that according to Reuters, Israeli forces are close to the Syrian capital of Damascus.
The sources said Israel had reached about 16 miles southwest of Damascus after capturing a buffer zone in southern Syria.
But an Israeli spokesman told Reuters: "It is not true, the forces have not left the buffer zone."
The reports came after Israeli airstrikes hit Syria overnight, A2 CNN writes. (A2 Televizion)
