Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered 160,000 more Russian citizens to be called up to serve in the army.
This is Russia's largest mobilization in three years of war with Ukraine. The age of the soldiers to be mobilized will be from 18 to 30 years old, writes A2.
The new order, which begins April 1 and will end by July 15, comes amid ongoing negotiations for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, brokered by the United States.
In Russia, such mobilization campaigns take place twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. This spring, more soldiers will be called up than in previous years.
