UK Defense Secretary John Healey insisted that Ukraine must be part of future peace negotiations, foreign media report.
Healey made the comments during a media conference, where he expressed his clear stance against claims in recent days that Ukraine could be excluded from these talks and it will be the US and Russia that will decide the fate of the war.
"Negatives about Ukraine cannot be made without Ukraine, and Ukraine must be part of the discussions," Healey said, writes A2 CNN.
"It's common sense. You can't see a solution, let alone a lasting one, lasting peace and security, if Ukraine isn't at the heart of it," he continued.
Recall that earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Kiev would be a party to the talks "one way or another."
President Donald Trump held phone calls with his counterparts Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky yesterday. He said the sides had agreed to begin discussions to end the fighting.
