US releases first documents on Epstein case, names on contact list and

The US Department of Justice has released the first batch of long-awaited documents on Jeffrey Epstein, the financier who committed suicide in a New York jail on August 10, 2019. The papers include a list of his contacts, flight logs from his plane, dubbed the "Lolita Express", and a list of evidence the government has collected against him. The nearly 200 pages of documents do not offer any major revelations: famous names on Epstein's list of contacts include Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson and actor Alec Baldwin. Donald Trump's name does not appear on the contacts, but the documents confirm that the former financier also had relationships with the president of the United States.

Contacts between Epstein and Donald Trump

During the scandal, photos of Trump with Epstein emerged. Now, the businessman's private jet logs show that the president used it with his then-wife Marla Maples (the couple divorced in 1999), their daughter Tiffany, and their nanny on May 15, 1994. But these weren't the infamous flights to Little Saint James Island - where hundreds of women, including many minors, were raped - but rather two domestic connections: the first from Palm Beach to Reagan Airport in Washington, and then from Washington to Teteboro Airport in New Jersey.

Epstein's known contacts

Other names on the contact list, the New York Post reports, include Ethel Kennedy (mother of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.), former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, supermodel Naomi Campbell, singer Courtney Love, Bob Weinstein (brother of Harvey Weinstein), the late Senator Ted Kennedy and actor Ralph Fiennes. But this is not “a list of Epstein’s clients,” the newspaper notes: These are the names of people on the former financier’s extensive list of contacts, the vast majority of whom have been revealed over the years through lawsuits and leaks related to the case.

The dossier was given to several right-wing bloggers before publication.

In addition to the contact list, the Justice Department released a redacted list of masseuses, whose names were redacted because they were victims. There are 254 names on that list. The “Phase One” dossier was given to 15 conservative influencers before it was made public, the New York Post adds.

"Now the interesting thing is we're all waiting for bombs," Liz Wheeler told followers in a live stream on X. "It's normal to feel frustrated... you should feel frustrated."

For its part, the New York Post comments that it is not clear whether further information regarding the Epstein case will be released, but the name given to the released file suggests that there may be "other phases." (A2 Televizion)
