White House: Nearly 70 countries around the world have requested talks with the

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt says nearly 70 countries have approached the U.S. for tariff talks since last Wednesday, when President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on many countries around the world.

"The mistake of American economic surrender is over," she says, foreign media write. "These countries respect the President very much," she continues, writes A2 CNN.

The calls have been "off the hook," she says, but Trump will only make deals with these countries if they benefit American workers.

She points to Israel after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the White House yesterday and said he would eliminate the country's trade deficit with the US, saying his "proactive approach should act as a model for the rest of the world."

"Countries are falling over themselves. Why? It's because these countries have a lot of respect for the US and the great power of the American market," Leavitt says, writes A2 CNN.

"By focusing on American supercharging manufacturing, Trump is already fulfilling his promise to usher in a golden age for our country," he added.

She adds: "The President will no longer allow American companies to be robbed at the hands of crooked trade practices. It's America First all the way." (A2 Televizion)
